Iconic Halong Bay, Vietnam with 1,900 islands (Part 2)

Iconic Halong Bay, Vietnam with 1,900 islands

This stop was a highlight of the cruise.  Today Halong Bay is a Unesco Heritage Site and now one of the World’s 7 Natural Wonders.  Sadly for most disappointed people, the entire Bay and town was fogged in all day.  For Glenn and me, along with maybe 20 other insane Kayakers, we had a terrific day.  Fortunately we booked the Kayak tour in advance, otherwise we would have totally thought twice between the gloom and fog.  Took a Junk Boat out to the floating docks to pick up the Kayaks for some beautiful scenery and caves.  Note that Roz courageously was taking selfies on the kayak as Glenn did his best to photo bomb while I tried to keep the camera dry.   Got to go, time for lunch and Maj Jong.

Bike Ride to Hoi An from Da Nang Port in Vietnam

17 mile uneventful bike ride with Motor Scooters in the rear, honking for no good reason.   Bit intimidating.  Hoi An is an ancient city, charming, mostly small shops.  Tremendous amount of very high end condos and hotels along the coastal bike ride.  Mostly visited by Russians and Chinese.

Journey on the Mekong River
Farmers live on the river and sell their goods on their boats.  This is the floating markets.

Food has been delightful in town at the restaurants.  Sometimes better than the cruise ship.
